The web design process
Requirements Analysis
The first key step is to talk - about the ideas for your website, the future for your business, the size, scope and purpose of the website, competitor's websites, branding for your business, logos, straplines, and even your favourite colours!
Design
I will produce 3-4 design ideas for you to review and feedback your comments before I begin to build the website.
Development
I will then develop a prototype website which you can view online (in a test environment). This facilitates an iterative process whereby your feedback and required changes can easily be put into place and then reviewed by both parties. This stage includes working with you to write the website content and finding or taking suitable photographs for use on the site.
Testing
The approved and completed site will be fully tested to ensure it displays and works correctly across the most common internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari) and common screen resolutions which your customers will use.
Launch
The site will then be transferred to your domain (www.xxxxxx.co.uk) and your web host (which stores the website and makes it accessible across the internet). I will also ensure the website is submitted to the major search engines; Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. At this stage you should ensure that you include the domain name on all adverts, business cards, leaflets and business stationery. But it doesn't end there...
Training
Should you require training in how to manage your email, update your website, add photographs to a gallery etc. I will provide a guide and specific training.
Support
Following the launch, I will support the website free of charge for a further three months to ensure there are no technical problems. You will own the copyright to the website and all content, unless otherwise stated, e.g. specific photographs.
